Christmas, Merry! Holidays, Happy!

Alright, so I know I get on here and talk a lot of garbage but let's put that on hold for the moment in honor of the holidays.

Nah, I'm just playing...

Things that I find annoying about the holidays.

  1. I HATE wrapping gifts with a passion. For the last couple of years, my family members have either caught me wrapping gifts on Christmas Day or they've ended up waiting for me to finish wrapping the gifts so that I can bring them to the tree, just for them to get unwrapped. I've asked if they'd just prefer I'd give them the gift, ya know, without all the wrapping what not, but apparently it's still a big deal after all this time. This year it's taken me weeks to wrap all of the gifts I've bought for my family. Without fail, after I wrap like five gifts, I'm so over lol smh. I get tired like I've done some hard labor.

Oh and just so ya know, I still haven't finished wrapping all of the gifts. Got tired again lol.

2. The only other annoying thing about Christmas and it's only mildly annoying, is waking up early and coordinating with everyone before we open gifts. Some of us take forever to get out of bed. Goodness forbid, people want to take pictures. Then you have to look decent enough to be in the pictures just in case one of the sentimental people in your family want to show someone. Yes, I know that in many cases people are in their pajamas, but let's not forget that while the pajamas photo is cute, saggy things aren't, especially for random onlookers that don't know you. That means that now I have to go find a bra, and nobody wants to wear one of those unless they have to. By the time everybody gets out of bed and gets in place it's been almost an hour. I could take a nap with all that extra time.

Things that make the Holidays the best!

  • HOLIDAY BREAK! Okay, that may not be your favorite part of the Holidays but ever since I became a teacher, it's become my favorite part of the Holidays. There's no greater feeling than turning off your alarm for the next few days. It feels good to just ignore everything that has to do with work, at least at the very beginning of the break.

  • The genuine joy in the air is another reason why I love the holidays. People generally seem nicer, they seem more like human beings during the this time.

  • Holiday music! Love it! I love how you can listen to people sing the same songs over and over again and appreciate the different arrangements and voices. It feels great when you're walking through a random store and you hear various passerbys singing the holidays songs with such enthusiasm. One of my favorite's from some reason is Last Christmas..."Last Christmas I gave you my heart..." My sister and I love singing that song. Holidays songs help create traditions.

  • The excuse to eat tons of cookies! Last year we ate cookies from the end of Thanksgiving right up until Christmas. We couldn't even eat cookies on Christmas. Too many cookies!

I hope you all stay safe, healthy, well and warm.

Happy Holidays All!
