Uhh... About Valentine's Day...

(Happy we don't get off of work for this Day!)

For all of you that love Valentine's Day, Happy Valentine's Day! Okay now, bye bye! Because this probably ain't for you.

I think that Valentine's Day is a truly senseless holiday. You're going to pick one day to celebrate people's love? Senseless. You're going to spend more money to eat at a restaurant that will have the same food and it will be cheaper in a month? Senseless. We're going to go out just like millions of other couples in the cold to do things we could do on any other day? Senseless.

Now, I know some of you are thinking: What about those special things you can only do on Valentine's Day?

My answer: See if you can do it another day. If you can't then hey figure it out. Celebrate it. Don't celebrate it. It's up to you.

We on't even get a day off from work. Even the government and businesses are like "Eh! Make 'em work!"

I'll never forget the first year I realized I wouldn't have to celebrate Valentine's Day. I would skip through the candy aisle during this time of you. Spinning in circles because I didn't have to rack my brain about what to buy my ex. Shoot, I think I even shouted (a dance to give God the praise) during one of those instances.

I was also excited to no longer have that anxiety over how I might have to react if I didn't like a gift. (Well, that can be said about every occasion that called for a present.) You ever look at a gift and ask yourself What am I supposed to do with this? just because ya didn't like it.

Every time I passed a couple holding hands or smiling at each other I'd laugh inwardly thinking SUCKER!

I know, I know. You don't have to say it people. Well, actually maybe you should.

But honestly I feel like when you have the right person with you, they make almost every day feel like Valentine's Day. Love in it's purest form HAS to be expressed.

Knowing I don't have to celebrate Valentine's Day is a very delicious freedom! (#valentinesday #single #irresponsible #freedom)
